Sex Coaching

As part of my broader sex services I offer a range of coaching, educational and therapeutic services. These help clients with a diverse range of issues and needs. I’ve had training as a Psychologist, remedial massage therapist, mind-body therapist and sexologist so combine this training with my sexual skills to provide therapeutic sessions. Coaching can be included within my massage or full service or be a standalone (psychotherapy only) service.

Here are some more details about what coaching could include.

Unfortunately due to the sexual nature of my services, Medicare rebates and NDIS services are unavailable (unless you are able to include non-registered providers within your plan). I offer discounts for bulk session purchases.

What is sex coaching

The sex coaching I provide combines psycho-therapeutic approaches with hands-on sexological bodywork to treat underlying sexual issues. Traditional sex therapy aims to treat sexual issues by dealing only with the psychological component, largely ignoring the body or physiological processes which may be contributing. Conversely, medical approaches tend to prioritise the body and ignore the mind. Both approaches have merit but for some people they just don’t work as they’re largely applied in isolation from one another. That’s where sex coaching comes in. I use a range of techniques and approaches to treat sexual issues including traditional psycho-analytical approaches, massage, mind-body therapy and sexual baselining. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and nurturing environment in which my clients can come to a better understanding of their sexual self, improve and recover.

How I do it

Sex coaching is usually a combination of talking therapies (similar to traditional sex therapists), relaxation therapies, mind-body therapy and practical sex work. It involves some talking to get to know you and your situation, guided meditation to improve your conscious awareness of your physical, emotional and psychological body, and some sex work based on your limits. I’ll apply some traditional psycho-therapeutic approaches as needed such CBT, psychoanalysis and behavioural coaching techniques. The combination and approaches applied varies depending on your situation, preferences and the treating issue, so I’ll work with you to find what works best. It can be combined with more intimate sex work if there is therapeutic value or be a standalone service.

How it helps

Some of the issues that sex coaching is useful for include: low libido and arousal, erectile functional issues, lack of orgasm for men or women, lack of sexual desire, sexual phobias, as well as recovery from bad sexual experiences and un-learning of destructive sexual attitudes and belief systems.

I normally recommend 2-3 sessions for simple issues and 6-12 for more complex issues.

What to expect

An initial consultation is 1.5hrs, during which I’ll take a detailed history from you and come to an understanding of your goals and desires. From there I do what I refer to as a sexual baselining which involves erotic massage techniques to determine your baseline sexual response (I do take into account first session nerves in this). For some clients I might stop the session with sensual massage only and not take it any further. At the end of the session I’ll chat with you about where I think you’re at sexually based on what you’ve told me and what happens in the session and we’ll chart a course together for further sessions. For some clients this might involve de-sensitisation or re-sensitisation treatments.
